Good christmas

Not much trading lately because i am very busy with one project.
Next year i will start with a lot of motivation again. I have great goals.
I talked with a lot of people and im gonna start trading horses instead of greyhounds because i think i got the basis from greyhound trading and it will reach one point that you cant evolve more. It's difficult to win more then 100 €  daily in greyhounds. It takes a lot of experience and hardwork.So i can apply that hardwork right now in horses and you have more margin to evolve because liquidity is bigger but competition too. So instead of keep evolving in greyhounds im gonna change to horse racing now. I still recommend to start  with greyhounds to create some good habits with this trading style.
I am liking a lot this kind of trading style (pre race). Once you get consistent with hard work and study its easier to stay consistent.  
So i will continue this challenge but for horse racing now.

Trading session 16-12-2011

Hello guys. Not a great day today because i did not find a lot of consistency today. A lot of ups and downs.
Im going to review tomorrow these 8 trading sessions and talk about mistakes and more things.
After 8 trading sessions im 114 € in profit. It's a good start.

Trading session 14-12-2011

I did not trade today because was very sick and had to go to the hospital but im ok now.
Yesterday session

Trading a 2nd favorite. I have been trading 2nd favorites a lot and it's really easy to profit most of times. why? Because i know some decent patterns when the favorite price is going down and i can say that i spot it 70-80 % of times right. Its just a question of doing a lot of races and you will start noticing patterns.

Trading session 13-12-2011

Hello guys,

good day today. Overall was a consistent day and only have some negative points like for example:
I got frustrated one time because i lost 1 hour work profit when a guy decided to back a horse from 8 to 4!!! with a single entry and the market stayed there. I was a bit frustrated, so i made a break and stayed positive because one day im gonna be the one manipulating like that if i continue evolving like i have been doing.

Tip
Its always good to have water near you because if you get dehydrated you will have less patience.

I traded with 5 € stakes but with normally two stakes involved. I think im going stay with this stake profile for some time because im really getting consistency with it.
Don't forget that evolving in trading is all about learning with errors and keep moving foward with perfect money management.

Trading session

Hello guys. I didnt trade last saturday because i had a project discussion for today and had to review some things.

Traded today with 5 € stakes because i didnt trade greyhounds for some time and we must start slowly always.
Made a lot of errors and was -3 € after some races. Made a break and comeback with more focus and with a different attitude.
My main error was entering too soon in trades in the race and get burned with people with more experience. So after that slow start i just entered when there was 2-3 minutes left and markets were balanced.
Im noticing some hedges but its not easy.
Im scalping favorites with some consistency but not doing very well on big odds horses.

My tip today is for money management
If you have some troubles with money management (greed) take all the money that you win daily out of betfair and start the next day always with the same money. The objective here is to avoid emotions and start a consistent routine. More money = more emotions.

Some of the ideas:
- Test one hedge that i developed reading charts.
- create profiles for races and apply different strategies for different profiles.
- Instead of using a bigger stake, using the same stake at different moments.

Some tips to avoid mistakes i did when starting trading greyhounds

i did not have time to trade greyhounds today but i am gonna post some tips to people starting to trade it:

- Dont get in a trade if there are only 20 secs left. Be very careful especially laying big prices.
- Dont increase your stakes too quickly. The feel using 5 € to 10 € is completely different. I am a trader used to big stakes especially in tennis and trust me its a big difference in this kind of trading style. From 10€ and 20€ is huge too. Tried one time.
- If you have a huge win, leave the race.

After some trading in greyhounds:
- Dont try to manipulate favorites markets.  Most of times you will get burned big time.
- Follow the trend but dont enter in no value positions because market can comeback.

I will try to post more tips as i get more experienced in this market.

If you are not sure about this activity, i can give you the following motivation. I know people that make more then 200 € with consistency everyday in these markets and do good money with bots. If they can do it, you can do it too. There are a lot of races everyday. Thats very good.


Do a lot of races. Record charts. Find hedges. Get consistent.

I will not trade dogs again today because there are some great football matches coming.

- There are some trades between 20s to 30 s left that doesnt worth the risk.

Third day - results

Lost -6 € in the last race and for me was good enough for today. Had a big loss like that because someone manipulating the market with 1k lays and making easy money. It's difficult to have lays with 1k against your position. Very good results today! In my opinion i was very consistent today. Did few errors but i tried to correct the mistakes i made yesterday. Started the day more careful and i must start to do that more times because a good start is always very good to build confidence.

32,31€ / 225,8€ = 14,3% gain. Very very good.

Today was an exception. Not all days are going to be like this with a lot great trades.

Monster trade - my best trade so far

One of my favorite patterns. You just have to find the right indicators to know when to enter. In this case all the indicators were there and i just enter and market was very strong on my way without stopping.

Second day/tip

Hello guys, had some time to trade greyhounds.
Started very bad. Was -8 € because i tried many new approaches instead of staying with the things that keep me consistent in this activity. Took a break to trade a tennis match and recovered the greyhounds loss after the tennis match with some races. Great trading. I cant consider today to be a consistent day because i started very bad but my trading in the end was really very good, mainly scalping favorites.
I have some new approaches to try but will not try it a lot like i did today.

10 € stakes
10,51€/215,29€ = 4,9% gain.

What can i do better tomorrow?
- Start the day with consistent approach and just try new approaches when you are already trading with consistency.
- Be more careful in the first races because it takes some time to get it going.

In my opinion it wasn't a consistent day. Need to get good habits like be more careful in the first races.

Don't increase your stakes very quickly, just increase when you double the bank at least, this way you will have time to get consistent. Be rigorous with your trading. When you are not trading well, admit it and use less risk.

First day of the challenge

Good first day. Didnt trade a lot of races but the most important is the act of at least trying to get time to trade it.
Traded the last 3 races of today, here is the result:(two sessions)

15,29 € / 200 € = 7,6 % gain.

Some Questions:

Best profits were ... trading low liquidity markets.

worst losses were .. trying to manipulate favorites with some minutes left when there was low liquidity.

What can i do better for tomorrow?

- Avoid manipulating favorite markets. Dont have the experience and can get burned very easily.

- Spend more time trading greyhounds.

- Check greyhounds expected prices and get some advantage of that and try to apply it.

Consistent day?

It wasnt a consistent day in my opinion. I did a lot of cheap errors and that is not consistency.

Tips match was quick and easy to trade for 43 % so i will put more effort in the races today.

Position plan/general rules/tip

Im gonna start with 10€ stakes and follow my position plan from students page.
max loss for race: 20% of stake.
I will trade the favorites.

Rules:
Let the market develop before entering.
Dont enter in the market if there is less then 20 seconds available.
I have to green before 10 seconds available.

Tip:
Use sounds to alert you of the time left. Instead of choosing random sounds, choose a sound that says you the exact time left. This way you will not waste time associating sound to time. It's important to avoid this to stay focused.

Hello guys,

I decided to start a challenge to 10k €, while there is not much tennis or on non big footy games days. The main purpose of this blog is to present my development to master greyhound's trading and i hope that you too can apply some advices to start trading other activities. Why greyhounds? I traded a lot of activities during the days with less tennis, and got some very good results in greyhounds, especially in favorites.
Let's see how this works and i hope that you follow me in my journey to master greyhound's trading.
I will post results everyday i trade greyhounds. I will not trade greyhounds everyday because tennis is my main sport and have to work in it.
I created a new account just for this activity with 200€ because i started with a bank like that in tennis and got huge results and when you start trading other sports always start with small stakes!
